Quick Answer
A UAE moving quote is built from volume, access (floor, lift and parking distance), packing level, dismantling and timing. Most apartment moves in Dubai and Abu Dhabi fall between AED 800 and AED 2,500, while villas typically range from AED 2,500 to AED 6,000. The final price should be fixed in writing after a photo set or a free survey.
Volume and Access, Not Distance Alone
Movers price the labour required to move a specific volume through a specific access route. A studio on the fifth floor with a service lift is a very different job from a 4-bedroom villa with a 60-metre driveway, a piano and no lift for the last 20 metres.
Ask every company to state the truck size, crew size and expected duration in writing. A quote that names one truck and two workers for a 3-bedroom apartment is either underpriced or planning to add charges later.
Packing Level Changes the Total
A transport-only quote assumes you have already packed. A full-service quote includes cartons, bubble wrap, stretch film, mattress bags and labour to wrap every item. The second option usually costs more upfront but removes the most common cause of damage claims.
Check whether dismantling and reassembly of beds, wardrobes and TV units are included, and whether packing materials are charged separately. A transparent quote lists these as line items instead of hiding them in a lump sum.
Timing, Permits and Insurance
Month-end, weekends and public holidays carry higher demand. Booking mid-month usually gives you more crew options and more flexibility on start time.
Finally, confirm insurance. Reputable UAE movers carry goods-in-transit cover; ask for the policy details and the claims process before the move, not after an accident. Building deposits, lift padding and permits should also appear in the quote if the building requires them.
